Project Overview
When Australian Unity redeveloped the Walmsley Retirement Community, close to the beautiful Dandenong Ranges.
The project consisted of a new central and light filled Community Centre for use by the residents of the existing Village, and a new 120 bed Residential Aged Care based on the Australian Unity Better Together household model.

Results
The Community Centre will feature a library, art and craft room, cinema, billiards room, kitchen, multipurpose room, lounge, bar and dining area. The larger social spaces can be flexibly configured to host a range of resident activities and events.
The new Residential Aged Care will feature 120 bedrooms with private ensuites grouped into seven individual households, each with their own kitchen, dining room, lounge room and outdoor space.
Central to the households and available also to Walmsley Village residents, will be a number of social and activity spaces including a gym, hairdresser, allied health consulting room, large multipurpose areas and a café with an external landscaped plaza.
The new building will provide a comfortable and joyous environment to reside in.
